Governance
Reporting
Decide which reports appear on the My Reports page, mark reports as ready or not, and limit each report to particular roles.
The My Reports page under Reporting in the sidebar lists the reports people can open. Governance → Reporting controls that list: which reports are published and who sees each one. Use it to keep reports that are not finished out of sight, and to show sensitive reports, such as financial ones, only to the roles that need them.
Before you start
- You need permission to change Governance settings to edit reports. Without it, you see View only — you don’t have permission to change these settings. and the controls are switched off.
- If you cannot see this page, your organisation may not use it, or your role may not include it. See Understanding roles.
Understanding the page
The page is titled Reports. Reports are grouped under the section they appear in on the My Reports page, with a count of reports in each section.
Each report shows:
| Item | What it means |
|---|---|
| Report title and description | As they appear on the My Reports page. |
| Published switch | On: the report is ready. Off: the report is marked Not ready. |
| Not ready badge | The report has been switched off. |
| No content badge | The report has nothing to show yet. |
| Everyone or Only | Who sees the report. Everyone means no role limit; Only means it is limited to the highlighted roles. |
| Role buttons | The roles you can limit the report to: CIO, CFO, CTO, Product manager, Engineer, Org admin and Super admin. |
Changes save automatically. Saving… and then Saved appear beside each section heading.
Publish or hold back a report
- Open Governance → Reporting.
- Find the report.
- Switch Published off to mark it Not ready, or on to make it ready. The change saves straight away.
Limit a report to certain roles
With no roles picked, everyone sees the report.
- Find the report.
- Select one or more role buttons. Selected roles are highlighted, and the label changes from Everyone to Only.
- To remove a role, select its button again. When the last role is removed, the report goes back to Everyone.
People see a limited report only if their role is one of those selected.
What to expect
- The My Reports page reflects your changes the next time someone opens it.
- A section with no reports is hidden on the My Reports page. Here it shows No reports in this section. The Reports page hides an empty section entirely.
Good to know
- If a report names a section that does not exist, it appears here under Not in any section with a Hidden badge. These reports are left out of the My Reports page until the problem is fixed, so tell your administrator if you see one.
- A No content badge is not a fault in your settings. It means the report has nothing in it to show yet.
