Agent Packs
See the agent packs available in your workspace and find the one you need.
An agent pack is a team of AI agents that work together to produce one thing, such as an item’s requirements or a PRD. Each agent has a single job. The pack decides the order they work in, so that one agent’s output can feed the next.
When Next drafts something for you during planning, an agent pack is doing the work behind the scenes. The Agent Packs page lists every pack in your workspace, so you can see what each one is for and open it to see exactly how it runs.
Before you start
- Open Context & Agents → Agent Packs from the sidebar.
- This page is for viewing. You cannot create or change a pack here.
- Which pack drafts each part of a plan is chosen in Governance → Planning → Agent Packs, and on each step of a planning workflow. See Agent Packs governance.
Understanding the list
Each row is one agent pack.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The pack’s name. This is the name a workflow step uses to pick the pack, so it is worth recognising. Select it to open the pack. |
| Description | A short summary of the pack’s job. A dash (—) means it has no description. |
| Version | The pack’s version number, such as v3. A live badge marks the version that runs when a pack is used without asking for a particular version. |
| Nodes | How many steps the pack has. Each node runs one agent. A dash means the count is not known. |
Versions and live
Every change to a pack is published as a new version. Older versions are kept, so a workflow that asked for a particular version keeps getting it.
Live marks the version that is used by default. If a pack is set up somewhere without naming a version, the live one runs.
Find a pack
Use the toolbar above the list to narrow it down.
- Enter part of a pack’s name in the search box.
- Choose a Status filter to show only live packs or only Not live ones.
- Sort by Name, Version or Nodes.
- Select Clear to remove your filters and see every pack again.
The list shows 25 packs per page. Use the page controls at the bottom to move between pages.
Open a pack
-
Select the pack’s row.
The pack’s page opens, showing how its agents are connected and what each step can use.
See Agent pack detail for a guide to that page.
What to expect
- If your workspace has no packs yet, the list says No packs yet.
- Packs are listed by name, A to Z, until you choose another sort.
- The same pack can be used in many places: for example, to draft Overviews in planning and as a step in Next Studio.
Good to know
- Agent packs and knowledge bases. A pack’s agents read only the knowledge bases they have been given in that version of the pack. Linking a knowledge base to an application does not give any pack access to it. Open a pack to see which knowledge bases each step can read.
- Choosing a pack while planning. When you generate a draft on a portfolio item, you can choose which pack to use from the ones your organisation has made available. See Overview step.
- Take the tour. The first time you open this page, it offers a short guided tour. You can replay it at any time from the help (?) menu in the top bar.
