Review
Set when quiet reviewers are nudged, when a review escalates to an owner decision, and whether reminders are emailed.
Planning workflows include Review steps, where reviewers sign off an item’s documents before it moves on. Reviews can stall when a reviewer is busy, or go round in circles when reviewers and authors disagree. The Review tab in Governance → Planning sets the rules that keep reviews moving.
These settings apply to every Review step in every planning workflow.
Before you start
- You need permission to change Governance settings to edit this page. Without it, you see View only — you don’t have permission to change these settings. and the controls are switched off.
- If you cannot see this page, your organisation may not use it, or your role may not include it. See Understanding roles.
- This tab does not choose who reviews. As the page itself says, which reviewers a step routes to is set in Workflows. See Workflows.
Understanding the settings
The Review SLA section has three settings:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Nudge reviewers after n days of silence. | Reviewers who haven’t responded after this many days get a nudge in the app. |
| Escalate to an owner decision after n rounds. | After this many review rounds, the review is escalated so the item’s owner decides. The minimum is 1. |
| Email reminders | Also sends each nudge by email, alongside the in-app nudge. |
Changes save automatically. Saving… and then Saved appear beside the heading.
Change when reviewers are nudged
- Open Governance → Planning and select the Review tab.
- Enter a number of days in Nudge reviewers after … days of silence.
- Click or tab out of the field. The change saves.
Change when a review escalates
- Enter a number of rounds in Escalate to an owner decision after … rounds.
- Click or tab out of the field. The change saves.
A round is one pass of review and response. Setting a low number brings in the owner sooner; a higher number gives reviewers and authors more chances to agree first.
Turn email reminders on or off
- Switch Email reminders on or off. The change saves straight away.
What to expect
- Reviewers who go quiet are reminded automatically, in the app and, if switched on, by email.
- When a review reaches the escalation limit, the decision passes to the owner, so an item is never stuck in review indefinitely.
