Getting started
Your profile and settings
Choose how Paradym Next looks, which language it uses, and how it lets you know when you are needed.
Your settings are personal: they affect only you. The most important one to set up early is Notifications, so that reviews, tasks and replies reach you promptly.
Open Settings
Use either of these:
- Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Settings.
- Open search with ⌘K or / and choose Open settings.
The Settings dialog has four sections: Preferences, Notifications, Account and About.
Preferences
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Appearance | System matches your device’s light or dark mode. Light and Dark always use that appearance. |
| Language | System matches your browser’s language. You can also choose English or Deutsch. |
Changes apply straight away.
Notifications
Everything that needs you always appears under the bell in the top bar. These settings decide whether it also reaches you by email or as a browser notification.
Choose your channels
| Channel | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sends your notifications to your email address. | |
| Browser | Shows a notification on this device, even when Paradym Next isn’t the tab you’re on. Appears only if your browser supports it. |
To turn on browser notifications:
- Switch Browser on.
- When your browser asks, choose Allow.
If you previously blocked notifications for Paradym Next, the switch says Blocked in your browser settings. Select How do I unblock this? for step-by-step instructions for your browser, change the setting, then come back and select Check again.
Choose what you are told about
Switch each situation on or off. Your choices apply to whichever channels are on.
| Group | Situation |
|---|---|
| Assigned to me | A task is assigned to me — someone puts a delivery task in your name. |
| I’m asked to review or sign off — a PRD review, or a work stream waiting on your approval. | |
| I’m asked to write a PRD section — you are named as the author of part of a document. | |
| Replies and mentions | Someone mentions me in a comment — you are @mentioned on a task. |
| Activity on a discussion I’m part of — a question is raised, or someone replies to a thread you are in. | |
| A decision lands on work I submitted — your input is applied, or explained. | |
| Reminders | Reminders about work I haven’t finished — a nudge when a review has been sitting with you. |
| Items I own | Progress on items I own — your idea is picked up for planning, parked, or not taken forward. |
If both channels are off, the situations are greyed out. Your choices are remembered for when you turn a channel back on.
