Integrations
Set up the outside delivery systems, such as Jira or GitHub, that a work stream can be handed to instead of being managed in Paradym Next.
Not every team manages its delivery inside Paradym Next. Some already run their work in another tool. Integrations let a work stream be handed over to one of those systems: the work stream is exported in that system’s format, and Paradym Next keeps a read-only record of its tasks for reporting.
The Integrations tab in Governance → Delivery lists the systems your organisation delivers into, with the default settings used for each export.
Before you start
- You need permission to change Governance settings to edit this page. Without it, you see View only — you don’t have permission to change these settings., and Add integration and Save are hidden.
- If you cannot see this page, your organisation may not use it, or your role may not include it. See Understanding roles.
Understanding the page
The Delivery systems section lists each integration, with a count of how many are configured. You can add as many as you need — for example, one department on Jira and another on GitHub. Two of the same type is fine; tell them apart by their label.
Supported systems are Jira, Azure DevOps, Linear, GitHub and GitLab.
Each integration has:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| System | Which delivery system this is. |
| Label | A name to tell it apart from others, such as Jira — Platform Dept. |
| Format | The export format: CSV or JSON. |
| Identifiers | The details this system needs, such as a project key. Fields marked (optional) can be left empty. |
| Default for new work streams | Makes this the integration new work streams start with. Only one can be the default. |
| Active | Switch off to take an integration out of use without deleting it. |
Some systems also show Assignees are usernames in this system, not emails, which tells you how task assignees are matched when work is exported.
Add an integration
- Open Governance → Delivery and select the Integrations tab.
- Select Add integration. A new row is added, ready to fill in.
- Choose the System.
- Enter a Label.
- Choose the Format.
- Fill in the identifiers the system needs.
- Select Save.
The first integration you add is made the default automatically.
Change an integration
- Edit any of its settings.
- Select Save.
Choose the default integration
- Select Default for new work streams on the integration you want. Any other default is cleared.
- Select Save.
An inactive integration cannot be the default.
Take an integration out of use
- To pause it, switch Active off and select Save. It stays in the list, ready to switch back on.
- To delete it, select Remove integration (the bin icon) and select Save.
What happens next
When someone hands a work stream to one of these systems, the identifiers you set here are filled in as starting values. They can be changed each time the work stream is exported, so they do not need to be perfect — just a sensible starting point.
After the hand-over, task management moves to the outside system. Paradym Next keeps a read-only record of the generated tasks so the work still appears in reporting.
Good to know
Until you add an integration, the page shows No integrations yet, and every work stream is managed in Paradym Next.
