Teams
Group people into teams so they can be added to projects and work streams together.
A team is a named group of members with an owner. Teams save time in delivery: when you add a team to a project or a work stream, every member of the team is added at once. Each team has a short code and a colour, which appear as chips on the Members page and across the app.
Before you start
- To open this page, your role must include access to people management.
- To create, edit or delete teams, your role must also allow you to make changes.
To open the page, select Administration → Teams in the sidebar.
Understanding the page
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Team | The team’s name, its colour dot and its short code. The code is what appears on member chips across the app. |
| Members | The first few members’ avatars and the total count. Hover over an avatar to see the person’s name. |
| Owner | The member marked as the team’s owner. A dash means nobody has been made owner yet. |
At the end of each row are Edit team and Delete team buttons.
Create a team
- Select New team.
- Enter a Name, for example “Platform”.
- Enter a short Code, for example “PLT”.
- Choose a Colour.
- Under Members, use Search people… to find people and tick each one who belongs to the team.
- Select the crown beside one member to make them the team’s owner.
- Select Create team.
Edit a team
- Select Edit team on the team’s row.
- Rename or recolour the team, tick or untick members, or move the crown to a different owner.
- Select Save changes.
If you untick the current owner, the team is left without an owner until you choose another.
Delete a team
- Select Delete team on the team’s row.
- Confirm when asked.
Deleting a team removes the grouping only. Its members keep their accounts, and anyone already assigned to work keeps that assignment.
What happens next
Once a team exists, you can add it to:
- a project, on the project’s People tab — every member becomes a project member. See Project people.
- a work stream, on the work stream’s People tab. See Work stream people.
